Modern Metamorphosis
inner of At Home Magazine A-List Award for Renovation, we took a tired 1980s classic builder colonial and transformed it into a modern family home. Swoopy Juliet balconies, antique glazed paints, dark mahogany paneling, dental crown, and corbels were removed and a new staircase, floor-to-ceiling double stick Shaker paneling, new kitchen, baths, and fireplace surrounds brought about a complete metamorphosis to the space.
The traditional recessed front door was also replaced with double eight-foot lacquered doors and a suspended awning. In a clean black-and-white palette, this home is an excellent example of how cosmetic changes can seamlessly transform a home into a specific, dreamy vision.
